modern au: usually he's an author or teacher.

he be livin au: An au where Jiraiya lived through his fight with Pain. This usually includes permanent damage to him sometimes the wounds change as we believe some butterfly effects take place when we change things like this.

hokage au: hokage!Jiraiya. Very different depending on when he is Hokage. As the fourth in stead of Minato he is of course younger, more enthusiastic and level headed. He’s very active in his role and does his upmost best to maintain peace. If promoted as the Fifth he is very different. If post Minato he is very depressed and apathetic, letting the elders and others control mostly everything. If post Hiruzen he isn’t as depressed but is more on edge, feeling the pressure more to do well post a massive attack on the village and his old teammate at the source of continuing issues. We’ll differ with tags like lord4th and lord5th

actor au: an au that’s a little meta. Where Naruto is a show and everyone is actors. Or an actor in general without the meta stuff lol. It gets a little confusing if one wants to change the characters names or not to make it make better sense in context to it being for acting for Naruto. Could be a fun challenge tho too!

sheikah au: BOTW Universe Sheikah inspired. If in wilds era an unusual Sheikah man that travels the wilds rather than stay in the village. If set before The Calamity he is similar to Impa, being an advisory/representative of his race to the royal family almost like a sage. He’s a little fascinated and creeped out by the ancient tech.

same age au: varies on partner’s preference. Could be set when he is young or when the canon starts. Can be by plot device magic that teleports or deages or character was simply born in that TL

fallen au: in which he is an inch from insanity, a dark hallow shell driven by mostly his whims and bloodlust. A fight hungry, hard to reason with, and acts mostly on instinct Jiraiya. A corrupted version of himself. Typically used for villain aus as well.

3h au: au based on fire emblem 3h. He’s a mysterious knight that was one of the original successes of the blood experiments done by those who slither in the dark. He doesn’t talk about it and will not disclose what his crest is.

mafia au: a bruiser, a bodyguard, an infiltrator. More of a high level henchman than a leader. Does whatever is asked of him. Typically wears suits and complete with beautiful traditional Japanese style tattoos.

monster au: any au where he’s a monster. Down to clown with most any kind of monster.

royalty au: can be a variety of things ngl. He can be a king or prince. Usually I put him as being a child far down the line or a bastard son. Usually he’s forgotten or mistreated, or took the crown by force. Or sometimes a lord that is in council with royalty.

resurrection au: by edo tensai he comes back perhaps during the war or in Boruto era for a temporary time. Or if Orochimaru had perfected a more permanent jutsu to raise the dead it would be for a long time.

reincarnation au: maybe in boruto era or something but a young Jiraiya walking around with fragments of his old life still in tact. Certain conversations or actions could trigger him to remember.

yandere au: he a lil cray cray and cray cray for you ❤️ his drive and obsession is sparked by the fear of his obsession dying or getting hurt. So he would kill anyone for them.

Genderbent/Genderswap: where Jiraiya is a girl. That’s it. Go crazy with it. Smash her up if you want.
